This post is in partnership with Cinemark.
I tried out the Cinemark Movie Club on a recent rainy Saturday to see Ralph Breaks the Internet with my kids, and this is what happened: I felt a little “shiny.” You know that feeling when you get something new, similar to a retail therapy high? I felt that way, which was kind of weird. I didn’t expect to get an endorphins rush from joining a movie club, but let’s be real, just getting out of the house after being cooped up all morning with energetic kids was special enough. Movie ticket perks was an extra win.
Cinemark Movie Club is actually the first program of its kind—a unique monthly movie membership that offers ticket and concession discounts along with many other exclusive benefits.
Movie Club Perks
For the $8.99/ month membership,
- I get one free 2D movie ticket per month with premium format ticket upgrades available for XD, 3D, and IMAX.
- I can purchase additional tickets for $8.99 each.
- The online ticket booking fees are waived, saving $1.50 per ticket.
- Concession purchases are 20% off.
- Unused tickets roll over and never expire for active members.
I saved $14.52 for the Ralph Breaks the Internet matinee with even bigger savings possible for evening ticket prices.
We are a movie family. We see all the new family films within two weeks of their release, and we hit the adult movies (*ahem* What do we call these? Regular movies?) about six to eight times per year. Having access to the Cinemark Movie Club saves money on something we are doing anyway, and I can almost bet that having my Movie Club membership will entice us to go to the movie more than ever before!
The even better news: if life gets busy and we don’t get a chance to go to the movies, my free ticket rolls over to the next month and never expires!
The Gift of Movies
It also makes a great (and easy!) gift. With blockbuster films like The Grinch, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, BumbleBee, Aquaman and many more hitting the big screen, there will be something special for everyone this time of the year. Movie Club memberships and credits are now available in packages ranging from one to 12 months. (Visit www.cinemark.com/giftmovieclub to set up your Movie Club gifts.)
One thing that really makes me happy about the movies is the big chairs that recline, and the Century 16 Theater in Mountain View is my favorite. It’s like watching a movie at your grandma’s house, reclined in Grandpa’s lazy boy. There is no movie theater more comfortable and luckily Movie Club is accepted there. It’s good for all Cinemark locations across the nation, including Century Theatres, CinéArts, Tinseltown and Rave Cinemas.
Give the Cinemark Movie Club a try and enjoy the show!
